TPU is easy to absorb moisture from environment and excessive moisture content in the granulate can lead to processing problems and to a reduction in the quality of the finished part. The moisture might bring about partial degradation of polymers and the formation of bubbles or streaks in the molded and extruded parts.

Koslen TPU resins are packed in 25kg moisture proof bags. All Koslen TPU resins have been dried by the auto dehumidification and drying system before packing. Storage conditions (temperature and moisture) throughout the storage period can affect TPU performance. Direct sunlight may cause transparent TPU to be yellowing. Therefore, TPU should be stored in a cool (should not exceed 30°C), dry place, out of direct sunlight, in an sealed package. If only a portion of TPU resins was used from a bag, the remainder of TPU resins should be tightly closed.

The moisture content in TPU resins is recommended less than 0.02% before processing. TPU must be fully dried before processing and when the feed hopper been opened several times. When colour masterbatches and additives are used, it is better to pre-mix with the granulate before the drying process to make sure that the whole product is dried.
